The Directors who made the Blockbuster

The Film School Generation

After watching The Film School Generation, I realized how genius the directors are. These directors have changed the industry and craft of filming forever even they didn’t start out that way.

Steven Spielberg is a director who consider  the public. His film is more of a humanistic issues like  the Holocaust, the Transatlantic slave trade, war, and terrorism which has a great effect to the viewers because they can relate and feel the characters of the movies. Spielberg's films often deal with several recurring themes. Most of his films deal with ordinary characters searching for or coming in contact with extraordinary beings or finding themselves in extraordinary circumstances.

George Lucas is a director who considers the public. At first he is not interested on filming, he likes English major or to become an anthropology student. But he ended up in USC filming school, and he discovered something that he loved and something that he’s good at. He is the director of the Star Wars which quickly became the highest-grossing film of all-time.

Brian de Palma is a director who consider the public. His works are more of a suspense and with crime thriller films.

Martin Scorsese is a director who consider himself. It’s because he mentioned in the documentary film that he wants to express his feeling or himself by doing a film or the way the people doing around. Scorsese's body of work addresses such themes as Italian American identity, Roman Catholic concepts of guilt and redemption, machismo, modern crime, and violence. Scorsese is hailed as one of the most significant and influential filmmakers of all time, directing landmark films.

Francis Coppola is a director who consider himself. The woman who spoke on the documentary film said that Coppola who is in the UCLA is more of a personal intentions.
Whatever they consider, the public or themselves, they still have the title that they are a very good director not only in the 60s but until today which they really contributed a lot to the industry of film and make it more entertaining in the eyes and heart of the people.
